Samsung announces a 64 GB mobile memory module moviNAND and 32 GB microSDHC card

South Korean company Samsung Electronics has announced two decisions on the basis of high-density NAND memory for use in mobile devices. One of them was the memory module moviNAND at record capacity, up to 64 GB in a single package.

This module contains 16 chips on the memory capacity of 4 GB each, in the production of which was applied a new proprietary 30 nm process technology. In addition, the module also includes its own memory controller, while its height is less than half millimeters. Due to its compactness, such modules could easily be used as embedded memory in smartphones and other portable devices.

The second new product, announced Samsung, has become a standard memory card microSDHC, whose capacity is 32 GB. This map consists of eight memory chips with a capacity of 4 GB each, while its thickness does not exceed 1 mm. Thus, the new memory card from Samsung should have no problem with compatibility with standard slots microSDHC. We add that the South Korean company in December started mass production of memory modules moviNAND to 64 GB, and referred to a memory card to 32 GB microSDHC reach the same stage of production in February.
