HTC HD2 will not receive Windows Phone 7 because of the lack of the necessary buttons

New information on a possible firmware update flagship communicator HTC HD2 to a new operating system Windows Phone 7.

However, despite hints of Microsoft about the possibility of such a step, is not so optimistic. Natasha Kwan - general manager of the mobile unit at Microsoft in the Asia-Pacific region - said in an interview with APC Magazine, that HTC HD2 does not meet the requirements and is unlikely to be supported by Windows Phone 7 Series.

Indeed, according to Microsoft for mobile devices that can run on its new operating system, they should have three hardware keys - Home, Back and Search. That is, one of the buttons is reserved strictly for search. In HTC HD2, instead, provides Call, Home, Start, Back, and End / Power.

According to other reports, this communicator lacks some of the hardware components to support Windows Phone 7 Series. It is still not clear what is meant as an accurate list of characteristics of devices, "imprisoned" under the new OS, Microsoft will announce at the for coming conference for developers MIX 2010 in Las Vegas.
